Terms of Use

The ground rules for using Allen Garage Door Experts, a free garage door quote service for Allen, Texas and north Collin County. Plain language, short sections.

What this service is

Allen Garage Door Experts is a referral service. It passes your garage door request to independent local companies that may contact you with quotes. It is not a contractor. It doesn't perform repairs or installations, employ technicians, set prices, schedule visits or provide warranties.

Free, with no obligation

Using the site and requesting quotes is free for homeowners. You're under no obligation to hire any company that contacts you.

How the site is paid

Participating companies may pay Allen Garage Door Experts to receive requests. That doesn't change what you pay the company, and it isn't an endorsement.

The companies are independent

Any agreement for work is between you and the company you choose. That company is responsible for its work, pricing, estimate, insurance, warranty and conduct. The site doesn't verify insurance, reviews or qualifications. Before hiring, consider these steps:

  • Ask about local registration. Texas doesn't issue a state license for garage door companies (TDLR has no garage door program). New outlets or circuits for an opener are electrical work that requires a Texas-licensed electrician. Some cities, including Allen and Plano, require contractors to register locally.
  • Ask for a written estimate, including any trip fee, before work starts.
  • Ask for an itemized invoice that lists the parts replaced, and ask for your old parts back. The Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act prohibits false statements about the need for parts or repairs, and claiming work was done when it wasn't (Bus. & Com. Code §17.46(b)(13), (22)).
  • Know your cancel rights where they apply. If you sign a contract at your home, Texas law (Bus. & Com. Code ch. 601) and the FTC Cooling-Off Rule may give you until midnight of the third business day to cancel; look for the cancellation notice. Repairs you asked for may be treated differently.

Information on this site

Content here, including prices, safety notes and summaries of Texas and federal rules, is general information. It isn't professional, engineering or legal advice. Prices are published national estimates, not quotes, and Allen-area quotes vary. Rules change, so confirm anything important with the company, your city's building department or a lawyer.

Consent to contact

By submitting a request, you confirm the information is yours and accurate, and you give prior express written consent for the site operator and matched companies to contact you by phone, text or email about it, including by automated means. Consent isn't a condition of any purchase. You can ask to stop at any time. See the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Don't submit false requests, someone else's details, spam or anything unlawful, and don't try to disrupt, overload or scrape the site.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Allen Garage Door Experts isn't liable for the work, pricing, delays, damages or conduct of any company you hire, or for decisions you make based on this site. The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
